Geddon is an experiment in placing the framework of the first person shooter in unfamiliar waters. Focusing on the core elements of the games within this genre, specifically their reward mechanics, Geddon becomes a pared-down shooter, wherein the player’s entire experience is dictated by the rules of the board. The primary goal is to hit 100% completion in the game, to squeeze every last bit of content out of the experience and consider it truly finished. The player is asked to see through the nebulous distractions of the world, and to the essence of the game, to live as long as possible, to consume as much as possible, as quickly as possible, and as efficiently as possible. It is a world that forces the player to become instinctive and precise, and to lose their sense of playfulness.
